GodFatherRails.com

The online home for the railroad photography of John Dziobko. Born in Newark, N.J., in 1932, as a young boy John was facinated by the trains his father would take him to see He took his first black and white photos in July 1948. That September he took his first color photos, and by July 1950 John was shooting his first Kodachrome slides. For the next 59 years continuing to this day, John has traveled the globe in search of vanishing steam locomotives and their colorful replacements.

ShastaRails.com

The website that is the testbed for new functions for the railfan website software. It started in late 2000 and evolved into a dynamic database driven website by 2002. Over 2500 digital and scanned slides and prints are displayed. The photos focus on Northern California railroading with special attention to Dunsmuir, Mount Shasta and McCloud. I live near Sacramento (3+ hours south) so there are many photos from Roseville with some attention paid to Donner and the Feather River Canyon.

Featuring over 2500 photos from Wisconsin and the surrounding areas. The site was launched during the summer of 2006 and has been going strong ever since. The owner is an avid railfan who converted to digital from slides just a few years ago and wanted a place to display and organize his photos. He's been posting new photos weekly along with some great slide scans from the last few decades. Over 150 fellow railfans have subscribed to his website update mailing list and he is able to quickly blast out an email with a link to his latest postings.

GoldenWestService.com

This website is dedicated to the photography and modelling of freight cars that were rebuilt and painted into Golden West Service color schemes in the early 1990s. There were just over 10,000 freight cars in this program so chances are if you've spent much time near railroad tracks, you've seen these distinctive blue railcars. The goal of this website is to be a place to gather high quality photographs, history and modelling information for personal use.
